Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
I took last week off to visit some friends and it was definitely the best idea ever. Awesome week. Will post more amazing art soon. I got home yesterday (after 7 hours of driving and a detour to the Woodbury outlets……) and a bag was waiting for me. A bag with a story.
So story time. During NYFW I managed to catch a little bit of the IFB party and happened to compliment a girl on her really hot, stop-you-in-the-streets, studded bag. Turns out she works for Handbag Heaven, which is a website that sells a loooooooot of bags. My faves right now are the secret agent bag, motorcycle clutch, and Jessa patent satchel. Seriously, the selection is intense and the price points are pretty good as well. Anyway she offered to let me review a bag and after some debate I figured, sure, why not. Something new to try I guess. I’ve considered all the stuff about preserving the sanctity of your blog and the best route just seems to be upfront; I was sent a bag to review free of charge.
This bag to be exact. Better/more shots of it here. I picked this one because I’ve always always always wanted a quilted bag that wasn’t just a sad Chanel imitation. I was pleasantly surprised when I got this bag. It’s not overly heavy and it’s nicely roomy so I’ll be able to carry a lot in it. It’s also unexpectedly well-made. I love the light gold hardware because it’s not too in-your-face shiny. The one problem with the bag is that it can be difficult to open, but I like the hardware on top too much to care. The bag keeps its shape well and looks nice both empty and filled. Inside, it has the standard zipper pocket on one side and cell phone/other things pockets on the other side. One thing I love is that the fabric on the inside is stiff so my cell phone and pens don’t slip out of the pockets. Moving away from concrete details, can I just say how classy this bag looks?!

Topshop skirt and floral bralette, random fishnets, Rodarte for Target sheer shirt, Chanel shoes, Handbag Heaven bag. This is me playing at prim and proper.

Accessories shot! I got the Chanels at the Barneys warehouse sale. I shamelessly (ok, maybe not completely shamelessly….) stalked a girl for 45 minutes until she gave these back to a sales clerk. I tried them on and then handed my credit card over with a whimper. These shoes represent Lagerfeld’s Chanel for me. They have Chanel’s classic chicness, but with Lagerfeld’s slight twist. Toe caps and embedded pearls means instantaneous swooning on my part.
