Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
This Monday I took my last college final! It was almost 3 hours of writing in French and, even though I ate beforehand, halfway through the test I got incredibly hungry. My stomach kept growling really loudly and I was afraid to look up from my test in case any of my classmates were glaring at me for interrupting their test-taking. Or worse….laughing at my misfortune. I’m just glad it’s over with. The fact that I’m done still hasn’t hit me and probably won’t until grades come out.
On another note, the east coast was hit by a big storm this weekend and here’s the picture of my backyard to prove it.

And here are some leftovers from the weekend before that.

Junya Watanabe Comme Des Garcons top. This shirt took me about 10 minutes to actually put on because neither my friend nor I could figure out how to get it on. But the draping is gorgeous and it’s made of this light, sheer-ish material that makes it look much softer in person.

Yohji Yamamoto Jacket. I’m so intrigued by different shapes in clothes. I think that’s why I gravitate towards specific designers. Whenever I’m here I always end up trying on the same designers. This jacket caught my eye immediately. The strange symmetrical, yet not thing it has going on means instant intrigue for me.

My friend J in a Herve Leger dress. I think it’s a widely recognized fact that Herve Leger dresses are miracle workers as far as curves go. J here has a model’s figure, as in super tall and just this side of rail thin. This dress actually gives her hips! I thought the beading on the dress might be uncomfortable, but according to J it doesn’t dig into the skin in the least. Pretty impressive that it’s somehow skintight, partially see-thru, and yet still classy.

Alexander McQueen dress. These sleeves makes me drool a little. If not for those stunning, stupendous sleeves, this picture would never make it onto a public forum. This dress was a size 2, and I am most definitely not a size 2, but somehow I still managed to get it on. You know, after I forced all the air out of my lungs and cracked a couple ribs. Still, when properly fitted this dress really could be a sexy little number in a nicely subtle way.

Issey Miyake dress jacket….thing. Um, how do I describe this? Ok so it’s a sheer full-length jacket connected to a completely accordion-pleated, fitted dress.
I don’t think it really needs to be noted, but I love weird stuff. I don’t know where I could ever wear something like this and I don’t know under what circumstances this would count as appropriate attire, but if I owned this, I’d wear it all the freaking time. I’d wear it to work just because I see lots of people and would get to talk about it a lot. I’d set up a camera by my front door so I could capture the reactions of random delivery people when I answered the door wearing it. I’d walk around in it and smile every time I caught my reflection in a window. I think this piece by virtue of it’s sheer (ahahaha) awesomeness could actually make a day awesome too.
Now it’s time for me to go on vacation. Gah I can’t wait for some sun! Just have to make sure I pack the SPF 85 because I burn like nobody’s business.
